WestPapuaNews.Org – LONDON: West Papua, Tamils, and thousands of kurds and their allies from across Britain filled the streets of London do demand the physical freedom of Leader Apo and a democratic solution to the Kurdish issues against the Turkey colonialism, Syria colonialism, Iran colonialism, and Iraq colonialism on Kurdish indigenous of lands in Kurdistan.
WestPapuaNews.Org Thousands of Kurds and their allies from various cities across Britain held a mass march in London demanding the freedom of Leader Apo and a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue. The demonstration, organized with the slogan “Freedom for Leader Apo, Peace, and a Democratic Society,” began in front of the BBC building and concluded with a rally in Trafalgar Square.
WestPapuaNews.Org Arriving in the city by bus in the early hours of the morning, the crowd roared through the streets of London chanting slogans like “Long Live Leader Apo,” “Freedom for Öcalan,” “Women, Life, Freedom,” and “Peace in Kurdistan.” The crowd, which held a sit-in protest in Oxford Circus, was met with applause from the surrounding community. Women, dressed in their national costumes, added color to the march, while the marches “Ey Reqîb” and “Çerxa Şoreşê” were sung in unison.
JIYAN WOMEN’S COUNCIL: LEADER APO’S FREEDOM IS VITAL FOR PEACE
WestPapuaNews.Org A statement released on behalf of the Jiyan Women’s Assembly emphasized the importance of the march not only for Leader Apo’s freedom, but also for women’s struggle for freedom and social equality. The statement stated that Leader Apo’s understanding of Jineology (women’s science) and democratic confederalism demonstrate that women’s freedom and a democratic society are inseparable. It added, “Leader Apo’s physical freedom is vital for the solution of the Kurdish issue and regional peace.”
SUPPORT FROM ACADEMICS AND SOLIDARITY PLATFORMS
Cambridge University academic Jeffrey Thomas Miley stated that Leader Apo’s vision of peace redefined the right to self-determination in the 21st century with the paradigm of the democratic nation. Miley highlighted Leader Apo’s principles of direct democracy, women’s liberation, multiculturalism, and an ecological society, saying, “In Rojava, this model has become a concrete way of life.”
WestPapuaNews.Org Speaking on behalf of the Phoenix TNG Tamil Solidarity Platform, Theevan offered a message of solidarity with the Kurdish people: “The honorable resistance of the Kurdish people is a source of hope and inspiration for all oppressed peoples. The vision of an egalitarian and women’s liberation society shaped by Öcalan’s ideas is the light of our struggle. Your freedom is our freedom.”
WestPapuaNews.Org Ufuk Pekoz of the Democratic Forces Union said, “Öcalan’s freedom is a historic step that will pave the way for peace and democracy not just for one nation, but for the entire Middle East. This isolation is an attack on the future of these people, and it must end.”
WestPapuaNews.Org West Papua stands in solidarity for Öcalan’s freedom is a historic moment to recognise and acknowledge Turkey barbarism and colonialism in Kurdistan have to be stopped to build the peace and justice in the entire Middle East questions regarding the Kurdish rights to self-determination. Including Kurdish culture, Kurdish musics, Kurdish languages, and Kurdish identities to be respected and treaded as equal citizen not to be second citizen for being Kurdish in the Turkey coloniser official government systems. We hope Kurdish peoples can be respected and freedom for all Kurdish political prisoner in Turkey.
“THE DOOR OPENING TO IMRALI IS THE KEY TO PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST”
Seyit Pirsus of the London Kurdish People’s Assembly hailed the people’s 27-year resistance. Pirsus stated that they are raising their voices against the harsh isolation and injustice imposed on Leader Apo, saying, “Öcalan’s freedom is the path to peace, justice, and equality. The door opened to İmralı is the key to peace in the Middle East.”
Participants emphasized that they would continue the struggle in every field until Leader Apo’s physical freedom was achieved, and the march concluded with slogans such as “Long Live Leader Apo,” “Freedom for Öcalan,” and “Freedom for Leader Apo, Hope for Peace!”
The streets of London once again echoed with the slogans “Freedom for Öcalan, Political Solution to the Kurdish Problem!”
