Besok, AMP dan FRI-West Papua Akan Aksi Tuntut Referendum di Jakarta

Jakarta, Westpapuanews.Org — Aliansi Mahasiswa Papua (AMP) Se-Jawa Bali dan Front Rakyat Indonesia untuk West Papua (FRI-West Papua) akan melakukan Aksi Bersama pada Kamis (01/12) besok di Jakarta.

Aksi ini dilakukan dalam rangka memperingati HUT Kemerdekaan Papua ke-55 yang diperingati setiap tanggal 1 Desember.

Menurut rencana AMP dan FRI – West Papua akan menuntut digelarnya Referendum agar Bangsa West Papua dapat menentukan nasibnya sendiri.

Dari Seruan Aksi yang disebarkan di Social Media, Aksi tersebut direncanakan akan dipusatkan di Bundaran Hotel Indonesia dan Istana Negara.

Aliansi Mahasiswa Papua adalah Organisasi Semi Legal yang dibetuk pada tahun 1998 oleh beberapa Mahasiswa Papua di Jakarta.

Mendapat inspirasi dari Tokoh Revolusi Kuba Fidel Castro yang terkenal dengan pernyataannya ‘Sejarah Akan Membebaskan Aku’, AMP kemudian terkenal dengan Slogan ‘Bersama Kebenaran Sejarah Sang Bintang Kejora’.

Sementara FRI-West Papua adalah Front yang dibentuk di Jakarta pada Selasa, 29 November 2016 oleh Partai Pembebasan Rakyat, Pusat Perjuangan Rakyat Indonesia, PEMBEBASAN, Serikat Kebudayaan Masyarakat Indonesia, Lingkar Studi Sosialis dan Perkumpulan Solidaritas Net.

Front ini bersolidaritas dengan perjuangan rakyat Papua dan secara lugas mendukung Hak Penentuan Nasib Sendiri Bangsa Papua.

Solidaritas ini berbeda dengan berbagai bentuk solidaritas rakyat Indonesia yang dibentuk sebelumnya, yang hanya berkutat pada masalah Pelanggaran HAM, Lingkungan Hidup, Korupsi dan Bencana Alam.
