ANU students have been involved in pro-Palestinian demonstrations and an encampment at the university. They are calling on ANU to cut ties with weapons manufacturing companies, divest from companies “complicit in genocide in Gaza,” take a stance on the conflict, and cut academic relations with Israel.
In our visit today at the encampment, we listened to students who have been camping for almost 100 days now at the university and to show our solidarity for Free Palestine, Free West Papua, and Free Kanaky.
We shared with the students of the Fijians for Palestine, Feminists for Palestine at the weekly Thursdays In Black vigil and rally that’s organised by Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre demanding the Fiji Government to stop supporting genocide Israel.
We also discussed with the Palestinian and student activists and supporters of ways to collaborate in the future and shared that we will always stand in solidarity with those fighting for their liberation in unceded and occupied lands and territories including Palestine, West Papua Kanaky and many others around the world as all our struggles are connected and that none is free till all are free.
