Selamat Jalan Bapak Septinus Mirino

SORONG, Westpapuanews.Org — Septinus Mirino (64) meninggal dunia di RSUD Sorong, Papua, Sabtu (04/11) dini hari karena sakit pernafasan. Septinus adalah mantan Gerilyawan TPN-PB yang aktif saat berusia 12 tahun pada tahun 1963 sampai PEPERA tahun 1969.

Menjelang PEPERA 1969, pria berdarah Byak-China ini sempat ditahan oleh Militer Indonesia yang berjanji akan memberikan kemerdekaan bagi Papua Barat.

Tetapi selama dalam tahanan, Septinus dan beberapa temannya mengalami penyiksaan oleh Militer Indonesia. Dia dipukul hingga gigi bagian atasnya patah.

Semasa hidupnya, setelah menyerahkan senjata kepada pihak Indonesia pada tahun 1969, Septinus dicap sebagai OPM dan tidak pernah mendapat pelayanan kesehatan maupun bantuan lainnya termasuk penanganan penyakit yang diderita.

Tetapi Septinus tetap tegar menjalani hidup. Dia berprinsip, “Lebih baik hidup menderita di tanah sendiri dari pada menyerah kepada kolonial Indonesia”.

“Beliau lebih memilih hidup mandiri dan tidak menjadi budak kolonial seperti mantan TPN-PB lainnya,” tutur salah satu kerabat Alm.

Kepada para pejuang Papua di Sorong dan Tambrauw, Septinus pernah bercerita tentang mantan Bupati Jayawijaya JB Wenas.

Menurut Septinus, Wenas hanyalah koki atau juru masak untuk tentara Indonesia antara tahun 1963-1968. Dia bisa menjadi petinggi TNI (dulu ABRI) dan kemudian menjadi Bupati Jayawijaya karena berjasa dalam aneksasi Papua ke Indonesia.

Selama hidupnya Septinus selalu optimis Papua akan merdeka karena gerakan sudah semakin kuat dan memiliki banyak perwakilan di luar negeri.

“Orang Papua harus tinggalkan perbedaan dan jadi satu,” pesan Septinus kepada para Pejuang Papua di Sorong dan Tambrauw.

Tentang strategi perang gerilya melawan militer Indonesia, Almarhum mengatakan, medan Papua yang berat sangat menguntungkan Pejuang Papua dan merugikan pihak Indonesia.

Jenasah almarhum saat ini sedang disemayamkan di Rumah Duka Keluarga Besar Mirino di Sausapor, Kabupaten Tambrauw, Provindi Papua Barat.

Menurut rencana Almarhum akan dimakamkan pada hari ini, Senin (06/11) di Pekuburan Keluarganya di Sausapor.

Septinus meninggalkan seorang istri, beberapa orang anak dan beberapa cucu.
