WPNews.Org – West Papua joined the Kurdish communities, other organisation for 10 anniversary of the Suruç Massacred occestrated by the Turkey coloniser to the Kurdish peoples and other comrades in stand solidarity with Kurds yesterday 20 July 2025 in London.
On July 20, the Democratic Force Union and youth organisations (Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger, Young Struggle London) organised a mass march in London to mark the 10th anniversary of the Suruç Massacre. The demonstration, which saw large crowds, featured slogans demanding justice.

We were rallying from the Manor House station on the streets protesting those taking away the lives of our loved ones and coming together to demand justice! No justice! No peace! Yesterday. Long live Kurdistan!. Long live West Papua, Sunday, 20th July 2025.
Throughout the march, slogans such as “Justice for Suruç, justice for all!”, “Shoulder to shoulder against fascism!”, “Suruç will be held accountable!”, “Bijî berxwedana Rojava!”, “Jin, jiyan, azadî!” were chanted.
10 YEARS HAVE PASSED SINCE THE MASSACRE, STILL NO JUSTICE
On July 20, 2015, 33 young people lost their lives in a bomb attack carried out by ISIS in front of the Amara Cultural Center in the Pirsus (Suruç) district of Riha. The young people who came together to support the reconstruction of Kobanê had set out from all over Türkiye, declaring, “We defended together, we will build together.”
A statement released at the protest said, “This massacre targeted peace, common struggle, and solidarity among peoples. However, neither attacks nor oppression could stop the people’s march for freedom.”
Perpetrators released, families and injured were tried
The statement emphasized that despite the 10 years that have passed since the Suruç Massacre, not all perpetrators have been identified and no political perpetrators have been brought to justice. It stated, “The survivors, families, and injured were put on trial; those seeking justice were investigated.” It also noted that Evrim Deniz Erol’s mother, Besra Erol, has been imprisoned for six years, adding, “Those seeking justice have been punished, and the perpetrators have been protected.”

33 DREAM TRAVELERS BECAME THE SYMBOL OF THE STRUGGLE
The statement emphasised that the young people who lost their lives in the massacre were women’s liberationists, ecologists, populists and socialists, and said, “Their unfinished bridge is being rebuilt in our hands today.”
‘WE ARE FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF 33 DREAM TRAVELERS’
The protest emphasised that the fight for justice continues not only for Pirsus but also against social injustice. Activists expressed their determination to intensify the fight against fascism, patriarchy, hate crimes, and the devastation of nature.
The statement concluded with the following call: “With our anger growing every day, we pursue justice. On the 10th anniversary of the Suruç Massacre, we will grow this struggle together, following in the footsteps of 33 dream travellers. We call on everyone to join this march for justice.”
