Wimmo Freedom raise awareness about the West Papuan Struggle at the Culture Strike, University of London

Wimmo Freedom raise awareness about the West Papuan Struggle at the Culture Strike, University of London, 12th March 2020.

“Awareness is a key ingredient in success. If you have it, teach it, if you lack it, seek it.”
Michael Kitson

12 March 2020, I was grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness about the West Papuan Struggle at the Culture Strike, University of London.

The event was organised by Liberate the University in collaboration with Solidarity Without Borders.

I shared about the Indonesian occupation of West Papua and how it affected me – (I currently live in exile due to my role in the struggle) and also of the recent Indonesian military operations in Nduga from December 2018 to July 2019 where chemical weapons were being used on Papuans. Attendees were shocked that this was still happening in West Papua and pledged to raise awareness within their own organisations.
