From the protest camp at the Tishrin Dam in Rojava, North-East Syria we call on all the youth organisations, socialists, antifascists, ecologist, women’s movements and everyone that stands against war to speak up to the war crimes being committed by the Turkish state on the Tishreen Dam and to start actions to stop the attacks. Therefore, the Kurdish community, Kurdish friends, West Papua, and other left organisations joined together in solidarity with Kurdish in Rojava, Kobane, outside of the BBC Headquarter on this Sunday, 26th January 2025 – London.

There is a Kurdish protest taking place in London and Manchester calling for Status for North East Syria. The reason for the protest stands solidarity with our Kurdish people in Tishreen Dam, where Kurdish, Arabs, Armenian, and other ethnic minorities demonstrate demandingfor an and Turkish airstrikes. Due to the massive bombing of Turkish drones, until now, 203 innocent people got injured. Ronîza Mihemed, a young Kurdish student, and Bavê Teyar, a famous Kurdish actor, are only two of the 22 people that until now where murdered in cold blood by the Turkish bombardments attacks everyday.”

For almost 50 days, the SDF has been defending the area around the Tishreen Dam against the attacks of the Turkish fascist state and its militias such as the SNA. The Tishrin Dam is a strategical point for the Turkish state in order to enter Kobanê and to continue to destroy the infrastructure of the people that live in the regions of the Autonomous Administration. Since the start of the resistance, there have been severe attacks by the Turkish state’s drones and warplanes on the waterdam, showing an imminent danger to the livelihood of the people. The Democratic Autonomous Administration has been warning that the destruction of the waterdam caused by the bombings would lead to a huge ecological catastrophe for the people and the region: Hundreds of thousands would be without electricity and water. Thousands of hectares of farmland would be destroyed, and even villages flooded.

To stop the attacks on the dam and to protect it from being destroyed, thousands of people from all over North-East Syria have been coming to the Tishreen Dam in the last weeks. The very first people’s convoy of hundreds of vehicles was immediately attacked by Turkish drones and artillery on the way to the dam. But despite the attacks, the will of the people prevailed: By foot, they continued to march to Tishreen. Here again, the people of North-East Syria declared a state of total resistance against the attacks and decided to continue the action without any fear and willing to give everything to protect their land. This stance showed once again the historical and heroic spirit of these people and how Revolutionary People’s War is put in practice.

Today at the Tishreen Dam, the people are writing history, and every day, more and more people come to protect the dam.

In the last two days, the Turkish state, enraged by the people standing between its goal of destruction and occupation, has been deliberately targeting civilians. Drone strikes launched on the people, and the car park has so far cost more than 15 lives and injured dozens. Among them Artists, Politicians, Educators, Activists, Mothers, Fathers, daughters, and Sons. This showed how much the Turkish state is afraid of the power of the people and their resistance. This is why the fascist Turkish state is attacking viciously to break the will of the people.

We are here today because we believe that we have to stand together to fight the injustice and brutality of capitalism. We are here today because we believe that every day, every action counts in these times of crisis and chaos. We are here today because we believe in the alternative that is being built in Rojava. We are here to say: We Are Tishreen!

We call on everyone to act now because it is all our responsibility to stop the attacks on this action of the civil society! The people coming to protect the Tishreen dam, one by one, are aware that they might become a target of the Turkish states’ airstrikes. But they are aware of the importance of this dam.

9 civilians lost their lives and more than 20 others were injured in the bombing of a marching plane belonging to the Turkish occupation on the centre of the city of Sarin in the southern Kubani countryside today (28/1/2025)

Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries bombarded the countryside of Zarkan town in Al-Jazeera canton with artillery and heavy weapons.

The attack resulted in a massacre against civilians. A civilian house in the village of Umm Harmalah was bombed, which led to the martyrdom of 3 civilians, including a child from one family, and 4 women were injured.

The name of victims are as follows:

Martyrs:
Ibrahim Obaid Al-Sayyad.
Hassan Obaid Al-Sayyad.
Jamil Daham Al Sayyad (child).

Injured:
Suhaam Daham Al Sayyad.
Hind Daham Al Sayyad.
Tarfa Al Sayyad.
Shahd Obaid Al Sayyad.

For this reason, we call on you : The action to protect the Tishrin dam is not only in North-East Syria but has to spread everywhere to stand solidarity with Kurdish people’s against the Turkey colonial barbarism and ethnic cleansing on Kurds, Armenian, Arabs, Alevi communities, Christians minorities, Cyprus, Greeks.

We call on everyone to join the action day on the 25th and 26th, and together, we will bring an end to the attacks on the Tishreen dam!
