West Papua Flag Raising at Westhaven Beach, 79 Westhaven Drive, St Mary’s Bay – Auckland on 1st December 2021

The 1st of December has a whole range of significant meanings for everyone. For us, it’s the time of the year where we raise the Morning Star flag to stand in solidarity with our Pacific whānau of West Papua.

Even now, indigenous West Papuans do not feel safe to freely raise their flag in their own country, without the threat of arrest, torture or long-term imprisonment. So until they can raise their own flag and live in freedom, we will raise it for them.

A range of different flag raising events will be happening online, around the country and around world on Wednesday.

If you’re in Auckland, feel free to join us at Westhaven Beach, 79 Westhaven Drive, St Mary’s Bay (next to NZ Marine) from 6pm.

We will have some of our ‘Free West Papua’ resources and merchandise available at the event as well ✊?❤???.
